Taco Bell’s original logo was insanely racist

Taco Bell’s modern logo is pretty simple. It’s a bell, because, well, Taco BELL. But, that wasn’t always the case. The original logo of Taco Bell displayed a sleeping Mexican man in a sombrero, sitting atop a bell.

Obviously, this isn’t okay. Even back then, executives occasionally fielded complaints about stereotyping and racism. After a couple of years, the OG Taco Bell logo was retired in favor of the yellow bell on an orange background that became the norm for the next two decades.
