Putin currently owns 4 dogs, each of them gifted to him by various world leaders:
Buffy – Caramel and white Karakachan gifted to Putin by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov in 2010.
Yume – Akita puppy presented to Putin as a gift from Japan for Russia’s assistance after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
Verni – Alabai puppy presented as a birthday gift to Putin from Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, President of Turkmenistan in 2017.
Pasha – Yugoslavian Shepherd Dog gifted to Putin by Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, in early 2019.
He also owned a female black lab, Konni, from 1999 – 2014, and was frequently photographed with her by his side during meetings and events. Does anybody else wish they were frequently gifted puppies on their birthday like Putin?
