Okay, this one reads like a classic horror movie pitch. During the 1970s, police in Germany were shocked to find evidence of women who were murdered with signs of post-mortem rape on their bodies. Soon, male bodies started to show up as well, with signs of blood being drank from their corpses.

Police eventually found out that it was a day laborer named Kuno Hofmann. Hofmann was severely abused as a child, to the point that he became deaf and mute. He also began to act out, and spent nine years in prison wondering how he could better himself.

That search for a better life turned him towards the occult, and he quickly found himself looking into Satanism as a way to better his life. He attempted to do a ritual using dead bodies as a way to make himself more popular and attractive. It didn’t work, so he moved on to fresh ones.

Those Satanic spells also failed at giving him good looks. However, they did succeed at getting him a more stable (maybe) life in a mental institution for the rest of his life.
