When it comes to some of the more recent (yet historic) murders, few are quite as disturbing as the I-70 Strangler’s work. Herbert Baumeister was an active serial killer throughout the 80s and 90s, and was known for picking up gay men who would never be seen again.

He would bring them back to his home, where he had a pool he decorated with mannequins made to look like they were partying. When the victim arrived, he would strangle him to death, then work to hide the body.
