It seems that fame and showmanship run in the Aoki family. Several of Aoki’s seven (known) children found their own paths to fame–often without their father’s help. Two of the most notable include globetrotting DJ Steve Aoki, and model Devon Aoki. 

Though he tried to do right by his children, the fact is that his relationship with them wasn’t always stellar. At one point, he sued four of his kids over their attempt to take control of the Benihana chain. He also has openly disparaged some of them for “disloyalty” over inheritance and tricking them into writing other siblings out of the will.
