If you thought that the late 20th century held a monopoly on cults, you’d be wrong. The Freedomite cult was started in 1902, by three different groups who fled Russia to avoid religious persecution. 

They didn’t really have many rules, but they did insist on nudity, communism, and anarchy. This was all the more impressive when you realize that Freedomites were living in the icy regions of Saskatchewan.
