Remember when Forrest tells Jenny he loves her? And then they proceed to have an intimate evening and then she bails on him the next morning? Well she got pregnant! And Forrest is a father.
The entire movie basically leads up to this moment. The present time! Forrest is sitting at the bus stop talking to that woman for so long waiting for a bus to go see Jenny, he doesn’t even realize her house is only 5 blocks from the bus stop but thank goodness he sat with her for so long because we get to watch him narrate his life. He has not seen Jenny in a couple years but she requests for him to come visit her and the rest is history!
