Forrest is in the army now! After playing football and finishing college, he goes off and joins the army. Immediately after entering the bus to bootcamp, he starts to wonder if joining the army was such a good decision. Unsure of whom he may meet, he sits next to what appears to be a very friendly African American man, Bubba!
Benjamin Buford Blue becomes a dear dear friend to Bubba, so dear he goes off and starts a shrimping business in honor of him after the war! Their introduction to one another is just as precious as anything else in the movie, Forrest never stops genuinely replying with the most endearing and obvious answers.
