The Miss Universe Pageant is considered to be one of the most competitive beauty pageants in history, and rightfully so. This pageant is regularly used in studies dealing with beauty standards, as well as studies showing how society evolved. It also happens to be one of the most expensive pageants in history.

Most of us have seen at least one or two pageants on screen, but not ones from the 70s. These wild facts about the Miss Universe pageant will show how this unique competition evolved since this funky disco decade.
