Born in 1929, Bulger was an Irish-American crime boss and FBI informant. Born in Boston, he led the Winter Hill gang in the Winter Hill neighborhood of Somerville, Massachusetts. Fun fact, he was the brother of William Bulger, former President of the Massachusetts Senate. Starting in 1975, he began to serve as an FBI informant and provided information about the inner workings of the Patriarca crime family.

Before being convicted of 31 out of 32 felony counts, including 11 murders in 2013, Whitey, in 1956 was sentenced to his first term in prison where he claims to have been a guinea pig for CIA drug experiments. While at the Atlanta penitentiary, he was recruited to join a medical project for research to find a cure for schizophrenia, where he was injected with massive amounts of LSD.
