Karl Grossman was a Berlin-based vagrant who already had a reputation for violence, beastiality, and child molestation. Despite the foul reputation and screams echoing from his decrepit Berlin apartment, his neighbors never really seemed to suspect him as a murderer.

However, people began to talk after women who survived a stay at his home claimed he tortured them after luring them with the promise of work. When bodies began to show up on a nearby river bank, people began to talk…and he became a bit wiser.

To continue hiding the bodies, he started to use their meat to cook food he served to others. He always had a lot of meat, despite there being a shortage during the 1920s. By the time police caught him, it was already too late. He hanged himself before they could execute him.

The Grossman case remains a mystery to this day, but not in the typical sense. Where’s the mystery here? Well, it all deals with Grossman’s victims. No one knows how many he killed, how many were eaten, and who ate the corpses!
