The relationship between Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump has received widespread media attention – from all the bromance jokes on Saturday Night Live to disturbing accusations on CNN. Putin told Bloomberg in 2019 that he and Trump were friendly, but not friends. “In my opinion, we have good, businesslike relations, and a relatively stable level of trust,” Putin stated. “We’ve never been close, and aren’t now.”
