Most people don’t realize how long top beauty pageants can last. Currently, most of the “big four” pageants last approximately a week. During that week, there are meetups, rehearsals, as well as interviews that vet each contestant for the crown.

That’s a lot of work! What most people don’t realize is that this is actually a streamlined version of the original event. From the 1970s to the 1990s, the Miss Universe Pageant took place over the course of a month.
