Charles ‘Lucky’ Luciano has been claimed to be the real godfather of organized crime, born in  Sicily in 1897 he is one of the first bosses of what is now the Genovese crime family. Known for ordering the murders of many people, he was prosecuted for running a prostitution ring in 1936. After receiving at 36-year prison sentence, he struck a deal and was deported back to Italy.
