Hiroaki Aoki started off life in Tokyo, where he became an avid rock musician and fan of wrestling. When he attended Keio University, he became known among his peers for an excellent athletic ability that got him into track, field, karate, and wrestling. Unfortunately, his penchant for fighting got him expelled. 

That didn’t stop him from continuing to practice wrestling. By 1960, he qualified for the Summer Olympics. He didn’t compete, but rather, took advantage of some scholarships that got him into American universities.
