Just about all “poxes” are going to hold a chance of causing serious destruction in their wake, and monkeypox is no different. Monkeypox is typically transmitted from animals to people, via body fluids like blood or saliva.
People who are unlucky enough to come into contact with this disease will find themselves breaking out in rashes and a high fever. The disease currently has a mortality rate of 11 percent, making it a far less dangerous virus than smallpox. Scarily enough, monkeypox is still around.
