Ronald McDonald is now the most famous face in fast food, and rightfully so. His long tenure as a mascot beat out virtually every other fast food legend out there. However, he wasn’t McDonald’s only mascot during the 1960s. Prior to Ronald, they had another mascot named Speedy.

Speedy was a man with a hamburger-shaped head, a chef’s apron, and a penchant for burgers. He was cool, appeared on McDonald’s wrappers through the early 60s, and was almost immediately forgotten once people saw the coolness that was Ronald.
