This virus is a relatively rare one, but it has a lot of potential to become the next major plague. This disease acts a lot like polio, in the sense that it infects the spine and causes progressive paralysis leading to death.

Unlike polio, Enterovirus is alive and well in the United States. Worse, it appears to be on the rise. Scarier still? This still-rare disease has a penchant for attacking babies, children, and teenagers.
